Why resin

Why resin pays better per hour than almost anything else you can make at home

It is not about being artistic. It is about a material that costs almost nothing, looks expensive, and cures while you sleep.

~$4

Typical material cost of one coaster set or small tray

$40–$120

What finished resin pieces routinely sell for online and at markets

30–45 min

Hands-on time per batch. The resin does the rest overnight.

The part nobody explains: you don't make one piece at a time.

Figures above describe typical material costs and common market prices for handmade resin pieces. They are illustrations of how the craft works, not a promise of earnings. What you make depends on what you build, how you price it and how you sell it.

A note from Jessica

I've spent 27 years around this material, and I've watched the same thing happen to almost every beginner. They buy a kit, pour once, get bubbles and a surface that stays tacky for days, and quietly put the whole thing in a cupboard.

Not because resin is hard. Because nobody ever writes down the twenty small things that actually decide whether a piece comes out clean — the ratio, the temperature, what the room is doing, when to stop stirring.

So I wrote them down. All twenty, in order, with pictures. That is the entire product.

If you've already ruined a pour, you're not bad at this. You were just missing the list.

Questions people ask before buying

How much do materials cost to get started?

Around $40–$60 gets you a starter kit: a beginner-friendly resin, a few pigments, silicone moulds, gloves and mixing cups. Guide 2 tells you exactly which products to buy and — just as importantly — which cheap kits to avoid, so you don't burn that budget on resin that never cures properly.

What exactly do I receive, and when?

10 guides as downloadable PDFs, plus your 3 certificates. Everything arrives by email the moment your payment goes through — usually within 60 seconds. Nothing is shipped, so there are no delivery costs and no waiting. Access is lifetime, and you can read on a phone, tablet, computer, or print them.

I'm not artistic at all. Is this really for me?

This is the most common message we get, and it is the wrong question. Resin is not drawing — you are not creating a shape by hand, you are pouring a liquid into a mould and controlling how it cures. The skill is procedural: right ratio, right temperature, right timing, right finish. That is exactly what a written step-by-step guide teaches well, and it's why complete beginners get clean results by their second or third pour.

Do I need a workshop or a dedicated room?

No. A kitchen table, a covered surface and an open window are enough for everything in guides 1–9. You only need more space if you move on to large furniture pieces, which is guide 5 and entirely optional.

Is resin toxic?

Uncured resin needs respect: gloves, ventilation, and no skin contact. Once fully cured it is inert and food-safe for the resins we recommend. Guide 1 covers safety properly, including which resin types to choose if you have children or pets in the house.

How long before I can actually sell something?

Most people make their first sellable piece within two weeks — usually a coaster set from guide 4, because it's cheap, fast and sells well as a gift. How quickly it turns into consistent income depends on how much you make and how you sell it, which is what guide 10 is for. We won't promise you a number; we will show you exactly what to do.

What if I buy it and don't like it?

You have 60 days to ask for a full refund, for any reason. Email us and it's done — no form, no justification, no arguing. We would rather refund you than have you sitting on something you don't use.

Can I get help if I'm stuck?

Yes. Every customer gets a support email address in their welcome message. Send us a photo of the piece that went wrong and we'll tell you what happened and how to fix it on the next pour.

Your first pour could be this weekend.

Ten guides. Three certifications. Sixty days to change your mind.
